The Coffee Shop, North CurryThe Coffee Shop is a community project run by volunteers. In addition to light refreshments, we sell visual arts and local handcrafts, fresh flowers and second hand books.
We lease part of a restored farm stable near the centre of North Curry and we opened for business in May 2006. There are three tables inside the Coffee Shop, but in the summer months we can set three tables on the terrace outside and therefore can cater for up to twenty-four covers.
Our home-made cakes and soups are a speciality and we also serve light lunches, jacket potatoes, toasted sandwiches, salads, together with a variety of freshly made beverages and soft drinks.
There is an ever-changing exhibition of visual art.
The Village of North Curry has a wealth of interesting features, being on the edge of a spectacular area called the Levels and Moors, which has international status as one of the most important wetland types in the world.
The area is packed with heritage and local traditional industries including withy (willow) growing, basket making and eel/elver fishing.
The church of St Peter and St Paul is in a prominent position at the top of a steep escarpment. The grandeur of its architecture, combined with its site, has led to it being known as the cathedral of the Moors. Opening Dates/TimesTuesdays - Sundays 10am -5 pm
