Asney Art and Craft Workshops, WaltonAt Asney we offer a variety of weekly classes as well as occasional all day workshops.
We have a lovely purpose built studio set in a quiet leafy corner, half a mile off the main road in Walton. Parking is good and there is a peaceful garden and interesting buildings to use as inspiration and to work in.
The facilities include a pottery kiln, a relief printing press for woodcuts etc. There are easels for indoor and outdoor painting and sketching. We can provide basic materials such as clay, paper and paint. There is also a helpful library of books and pictures.
The teaching at Asney and Glastonbury Abbey will be done by Caroline Hayles (BA Hons Fine Art & Teachers Cert.) who has taught a wide range of ages and standards in unusual locations! For her the important thing is for everybody to enjoy creativity for its own sake however skilful the end result.
Regular half-day workshops include:
LIFE DRAWING, CLAY MODELLING AND MEDIEVAL TILE MAKING. BATIK, PAINTING, PRINT MAKING, AND EXPERIMENTAL ART USING A VARIETY OF MATERIALS.
Regular half-day workshop held at:
GLASTONBURY ABBEY (entrance fee included).
ALL-DAY WORKSHOPS – run every month at the weekend, sometimes we go on field trips across the Somerset Levels. For beginners through to experienced artists.
