Dorothy's Tea Room, Hinton St GeorgeCountry lanes winding through the scenic hills and dales of South Somerset bring you to the wonderfuly unspoilt village of Hinton St George. A broad main street, thatched houses, a medieval village cross and a striking 15th century church all add to the charm.
Dorothy's Tea Room is a delightfully traditional tea room run by two friendly ladies, Gill Esp and Joyce Roach. Named after Gill's mother, Dorothy's has a very welcoming atmosphere with its blue and white checked table cloths and blue and yellow decor.
Teatime treats include Cream and Afternoon Teas, cakes and gateaux, with the cakes made using free range eggs, gluten and sugar free options are available. The menu has a strong Somerset flavour, featuring Pie Minster Pies - hand made in the county, Somerset Applecake, Styles of Minehead ice cream, Miles of Porlock teas and coffees, salads and vegetables from Somerset Organics Links, bread from the bakery Roy-Al in Martock and meats 'from Mr Osborne in Merriott'. The regular menu offers two different home-made soups , Aga baked jacket potatoes, salads and sandwiches.
